The Maitreya Buddha Statue

Maitreya—the embodiment of boundless loving-kindness and the future Buddha of this world—also holds a unique and pivotal meaning of the sutra of definitive meaning, Dzokden Dharma. Through the great master Asanga, Maitreya transmitted teachings that include the Five Treatises of Maitreya, treasures that illuminate the definitive meaning (ngedön) of the Dharma in a manner unparalleled across Buddhist traditions.

These teachings include:

  • the sublime instructions taught by the Buddha himself,

  • the profound transmissions of the Bodhisattva Maitreya,

  • the stainless Dharma of the Kalki Kings of Shambhala,

  • the teachings of the scholar-practitioners of glorious Nalanda University, and

  • the complete pith instructions of the Tibetan mahasiddhas.

Together, these form the sutric backbone of the Jonang Zhentong View—the view upheld by Dolpopa Sherab Gyaltsen and the heart of the Dzokden understanding of Buddha-nature.

As these texts themselves state, even merely looking at the intended meaning of these teachings is “supremely auspicious.”

Thus, a Maitreya statue is not only an object of devotion—it is a link to a vast living stream of Dharma that flows from the Buddha, through Maitreya and Asanga, to the Nalanda masters, and into the profound Jonang tradition.

This statue is carefully crafted in Maitreya’s sambhogakaya form—radiant, adorned, majestic, and youthful—symbolizing his eternal service to beings, his perfect qualities, and his role in guiding practitioners toward the definitive meaning.

Why This Maitreya Statue Was Sourced

Khentrul Rinpoche teaches that statues must be filled and consecrated to become genuine sources of blessing and merit. This statue was sourced with three profound intentions:

1. To embody the heart of the Jonang's Zhentong Sutra tradition.

Maitreya’s transmissions to Asanga reveal the ultimate Sutra teachings that distinguish rangtong and zhentong, clarify what must be accepted or rejected, and illuminate the very nature of samsara and nirvana. These texts ensure that practitioners follow a view that truly fulfills the needs of the path.

2. To help practitioners connect with the definitive meaning (ngedön).

The Five Treatises of Maitreya illuminate the Buddha-nature teachings that form the philosophical basis of the Jonang tradition. This statue serves as a living reminder of that profound, luminous view.

3. To unite Sutra and Tantra through Kalachakra blessings.

The statue is filled with blessed sand from Kalachakra empowerments, connecting Maitreya’s Sutra teachings with the tantric aspirations of Shambhala and the unfolding Golden Age.

This unites the two great streams of Dzokden practice:
Sutra (Maitreya–Asanga) and Tantra (Kalachakra–Shambhala).

Relics and Consecration

Each Maitreya statue has been filled according to authentic lineage tradition, including:

  • Blessed Kalachakra sand from empowerments performed by Khentrul Rinpoche

  • Relics and holy substances from multiple Buddhist traditions

  • Maitreya-specific mantras, dharanis, and seed syllables

  • Sacred substances connected to Buddha-nature, the definitive meaning, and loving-kindness

After filling, each statue underwent full consecration by Khentrul Rinpoche, including:

Kalachakra-Related Rituals

Infusing the statue with the aspiration for universal peace and the Golden Age.

Drolmi Kazug Empowerment (21 Taras) Puja
Red Vaisravana Holding Spear Empowerment

Scriptural Power of a Maitreya Statue

(From the Sutra Requested by King Salgyal)

The Buddha taught:

“However many atoms there are in the stupa or the statue of the Foe Destroyer, the person who built this will achieve kings’ reigns in deva and human realms equal to that number of atoms. They will attain the concentrations of form and formless realms and ultimately achieve enlightenment, free from all suffering.”

Simply possessing, sponsoring, or making offerings to a Maitreya statue creates immeasurable benefit.

delightful read
Format: Kindle
What a delightful read. The characters are awesome, the plot was so good, I loved it. I was intrigued and it kept me wanting more. Told in multiple pov, the book sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I cannot wait to read the next book.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
