'Замок' — останній незавершений і найзагадковіший роман Франца Кафки. У центрі роману, як майже в усіх творах письменника, — втаємничені, алогічні, незбагненні взаємини людини зі світом, з системою, з владою, з іншими людьми. Головний герой К. шість днів блукає стежками зимового Села, намагаючись знайти дорогу до Замку. Історія героя нагадує перипетії долі самого автора і так само трагічно передає самотність і безпорадність людини в її протистоянні жорстокості й абсурдності життя.

Також видання містить 'Подорожні щоденники' (1911—1912), в яких Кафка описав подорожі до Фрідлянда, Райхенберґа, Парижа, Юнґборна та інших міст, і 'Вісім зошитів' (1917—1919) — маленькі зошити у восьму частку аркуша, в яких письменник занотовував свої поетичні фантазії, фрагменти майбутніх творів та афоризми.
